Xinhua English BEIJING, Oct. 16 (Xinhua) — “Weathering with You”, a Japanese animated (動畫) romantic fantasy film is set to hit Chinese theaters on Nov. 1, 2019.
Set in Japan, the film talks about a high school teenager Hodaka Morishima who makes a living on his own in Tokyo for the first time. He works for a local magazine, writing about all the things strange and supernatural but the most interesting thing happening in the unusual weather in Tokyo. It rains every day and seems never come to an end. A young girl named Hina Amano who can control the weather walks into the young man’s life.
Hina has the ability to call out the sun whenever she prays for it. Hodaka suggests that Hina should become a “sunshine girl” — someone who will clear the sky and stop the rain. Things begin looking up for them at first. However, it is common knowledge that power always comes with a heavy price ...
The film, originally titled “Tenki No Ko”, is directed by Makoto Shinkai. Born in 1973, Makoto is best known for directing “Your Name”, Japanese named as Kimi No Na Wa, a high-grossing (高票房) animated film released in 2016. “Weathering with You” sold more than 1.1 million tickets, grossing 1.6 billion yen (about US $15.22 million) in its first three days in more than 350 theaters. The film ranked No.1 in its opening weekend and is currently the No.7 highest-earning film of all time in Japan and the highest-grossing film in Japan in 2019.
“Weathering with You” is also Japan’s submission for the Best International Feature Film category at the 92nd Academy Awards (奧斯卡金像獎(jiǎng)) — the first animated film that Japan has submitted (遞交) in the category since “Mononoke Hime” in 1998.

American people like to say “Thank you” when others help them or say something kind to them. People of many other countries do so, too. It is a very good habit.
You should say “Thank you” when someone passes you the salt on the table, when someone walking before you keeps the door open for you, when someone says you have done your work well, or you have bought a nice thing, or your city is very beautiful. “Thank you” is used not only between friends, but also between parents and children, brother and sisters, husbands and wives.
“Excuse me” is another short sentence they use. When you hear someone say so behind you, you know that someone wants to walk past you.
It is not polite to break others while they are talking. If you want to speak to one of them, say “Excuse me” first, and then begin talking. You should also do so when you want to cough(咳嗽) or make any noise before others.

When we think of paper, we think of newspapers and books. But there are many other uses. Only half of the world's paper is used for books and newspapers.
Paper is very good for keeping you warm. You have perhaps seen homeless men sleep on a large number of newspapers. In Finland, it is sometimes-40℃ in winter. The farmers wear paper boots(靴子)in the snow. Nothing could be warmer.
Each year, more and more things are made of paper. We have had paper cups and plates for a long time. But now we hear that chairs, tables, and even beds can be made of paper. Besides paper boots and shoes, you can wear paper hats, paper dresses, and paper raincoats. When you have used them once, you may throw them away and buy new ones.
The latest use of paper seems to be paper houses. These are not small houses for children to play in, but real, big houses for people to live in. You can buy a house with three rooms for about 500 dollars. You can put it up by yourself in a few hours, and you can use it for about five years.
