Thank you for your listening!

My dear teachers and friends, good morning! I’m very glad to stand here and give you a short speech about my ideas to achieve our China Dream. I hope all of us can get together to make our dream come true!
In my opinion, to learn much more knowledge about our country and Chinese culture is very important. China is a great country which has a long history. It is our motherland. So as a middle school student, we should study hard so that we can make great contributions to our country. And we must respect the elder including our parents and teachers. Try to be polite, such as saying “Good morning” when we meet them. Don’t tell lies. Remember, honesty is one of the most valuable qualities. Sometimes, it is always brave to acknowledge our mistakes. And we should try to be kind to others, and ready to help others when they are in trouble. What’s more, Obeying the rules such as the traffic rules and school rules is good for us. Don’t break the rules, or you’ll be in danger. Last but not least, we should learn to protect our environment so that we can be a greener person.
I believe if we can do the things above, our China Dream will come true in our future!
Thank you for listening!

The boy's father had a meeting with the family doctor. "Could anything be done?" he asked the doctor.

However, two years went by, but nobody wanted to offer the young man ears. Then one day the father said, "Son, someone will donate his ears to you. But it's a secret." The operation was a great success.
Time kept the secret, but the day did come ... One day, the young man stood with his father beside his mother's body. Slowly, the father held out a hand and raised the thick brown hair. To his surprise, the son found his mother had no outer ears.

Are you left-handed? If you are, you make up just 10% of the world’s population.小題1:  Most people write and play musical instruments with their right hands.
Why are so few people left-handed? A new theory, called “cooperation (合作) vs competition” may have the answer.小題2:    When making tools for a right-handed person — like a knife — it was easier if everybody could use the same hand. But some humans wanted to compete instead. So to have an advantage over right-handed people, they would use their left hand to surprise competitors.
小題3:German born American scientist Albert Einstein, British physicist Isaac Newton and British biologist Charles Darwin are some famous “l(fā)efties”. At least six US presidents were left-handed, including Barack Obama, Bill Clinton, and Harry Truman.
“Lefties” are also often linked with creativity and visual (視覺) skills.
How can this be? Well, the left side of our brain is where we solve problems. The right side of our brain is where we develop creativity. Right-handers tend (傾向) to use the left side more than the right side.小題4:
“This is why there are more of them in creative areas, such as music, art and writing,” said Alan Searleman, PhD, from St. Lawrence University, New York.
小題5:They tend to have worse memories, often forgetting names and places.
