A Young Girl's Big Dream When you talk about golf, you may think of Tiger Woods. ButChinaalso has great golf players. One Junior 2 student from Guangzhou,Feng Shanshan, may be China's Tiger Woods one day!On April 14,she helped China win the second place in the Asian Women's Queen Sirikit Cup ("皇后杯"亞洲女子業(yè)余高爾夫球隊際邀請賽) inJiangmen,Guangdong. South Korea took the first place, but this was a great year for China, too. They had never done so well before. Feng was the youngest of the three players on the Chinese team. But she beat many players much older than her. "I tried my best. I just did what I could," she said after the game.
Feng,14, has been playing golf for four years, but it's not her first sport. She played tennis and learned to swim when she was younger, but they weren't for her. "I can't swim or run very fast. But I'm strong, and I can hit the ball hard," Feng said, "Now,Fm doing what I'm good at!" Not everyone can be a good golfer. Games often go on for several hours over a few days. Golf isn't as fast as other sports,so players must have very good focus all the time. Feng's father,Feng Xiong, thinks Feng was born to play golf because she is very patient. "She can work on one small thing for hours”,he said, "and she doesn't get tired in long games."
Staying on Top at School Feng plays golf all the time, but she also works hard on her studies. There are more than 600 Junior 2 students at Tianhe Middle School in Guangzhou, and she is one of the top 30.
She takes her school books with her to games. "Good golf players must be smart," Feng said, "so I must study hard. " And hard work makes her happy. And playing golf brings a lot to her life. "I've made a lot of older friends at games," she said, "and playing golf teaches me to be a nice person all the time."
Feng is young, but she has a big dream; She wants to be the first Chinese to play on the LPGA Tour (女子職業(yè)高爾夫巡回賽) .She also wants to play for China in the 2006 Asian Games in Doha (多哈) ,Qatar (卡塔爾) !
"It won't be easy," she said, "but Fll work hard to make it come true."

My father woke me up early one summer morning when I was fourteen and announced, u Get up,you're going with me to cut grass."
The idea that my father actually thought I was old enough to help him in his business made me feel proud and excited. From sunrise,my father,my younger brother and I worked in the large yards,in a rich part of Atlanta,Georgia. By the end of the day I was tired out,but I felt well. I had put in a day's hard work and had earned $6.
