“I ran along beside the bus，”said Jerry．“It Was just as quick and I saved two dollars and fifty cents by not paying the fare．”He was proud of what he had done and thought it would make Alice happy，but it didn’t．

“Why didn’t you run beside a taxi?”she said．“You would have saved six dollars．”
