A month before my first marathon, one of my ankles was injured and this meant not running for two weeks, leaving me only two weeks to train. Yet, I was determined to go ahead.

I remember back to my 7th year in school. In my first P. E. class, the teacher required us to run laps and then hit a softball. I didn't do either well. He later informed me that I was “not athletic".

The idea that I was “not athletic" stuck with me for years. When I started running in my 30s, I realized running was a battle against myself, not about competition or whether or not I was athletic. It was all about the battle against my own body and mind. A test of wills!

The night before my marathon, I dreamt that I couldn't even find the finish line. I woke up sweating and nervous, but ready to prove something to myself.

Shortly after crossing the start line, my shoe laces（鞋帶）became untied. So I stopped to readjust. Not the start I wanted!

At mile 3, I passed a sign： "GO FOR IT, RUNNERS!”

By mile 17, I became out of breath and the once injured ankle hurt badly. Despite the pain, I stayed the course walking a bit and then running again.

By mile 21, I was starving!

As I approached mile 23, I could see my wife waving a sign. She is my biggest fan. She never minded the alarm clock sounding at 4 a. m. or questioned my expenses on running.

I was one of the final runners to finish. But I finished! And I got a medal. In fact, I got the same medal as the one that the guy who came in first place had.

Determined to be myself, move forward, free of shame and worldly labels（世俗標(biāo)簽），I can now call myself a “marathon winner".

We have been travelling for more than a week already but arrived in Saudi Arabia today. Most people here wear traditional type of long and loose clothing that cover the whole body. Saudi Arabia is in the desert, and in summer, the weather is extreme hot. One of the tour guide told us that it gets as hotter as 50℃ every summer. Wear this kind of clothing may be very comfortable in that weather, but this is winter and quite cool now. During the day in winter, it was about 22℃ and about 13℃ in the evening. “I was driving to work. It was quite dark, but it suddenly became bright as if it were day," said Viktor Prokofiev, 36, a resident（居民）of Yekaterinburg in the Ural Mountains. felt like I was blinded by headlights（車前燈）.”

The meteorite, which weighed about 10 tonnes and may have been made of iron, entered Earth's atmosphere and broke apart 30 km—50 km above ground, according to Russia's Academy of Sciences.

“The energy released（(釋放）when it entered the Earth's atmosphere was equal to a few kilo tonnes," the academy said, “the power of a small atomic weapon exploding. ”

No deaths were reported but the Emergencies Ministry said 20, 000 rescue and clean-up workers were sent to Ural Region after President Vladimir Putin told Emergencies Minister Vladimir Puchkov to ease and help the victims.

The Interior Ministry said about 1,200 people had been injured, at least 200 of them were children, and most from broken pieces of glass.

A video told a story about how a parent swallow taught its lazily child. It was time for the young to fly away and feed it. However, the young refused to leave the net.
