Have you visited an ancient,aristocratic (貴族氣派的) ，and quiet place? Well,this is Vicenza whose streets aren’t wide,with a number of beautiful Renaissance (文藝復(fù)興時期) buildings,and a wonderful square that is the heart of the city: Piazza dei Signori.

Everybody knows Venice,Rome,and Florence,but only a few people know that Vicenza has to be taken into special consideration for its important historical buildings,mostly designed by Andrea Palladio who was born in Vicenza (1508—1580) .

It was during the Renaissance and the following four hundred years in which Vicenza was under the protection of the Republic of Venice that the great buildings were built,making Vicenza famous throughout Europe and giving it the great appearance which it keeps today.

Besides its historical district,around Vicenza are beautiful hills and the countryside where you can spend time walking,sightseeing,and having delicious meals in many restaurants which serve typical foods and good wine. What's more,in Vicenza's countryside there’re great villas (別墅) which are worth visiting. This is where the most local people used to spend their summers farming their lands during the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries.

Vicenza greatly attracted people interested in art and historical works. Besides having fun thereVe classical and jazz music concerts and theatre performances,mostly during the autumn.

It may be that young people feel Vicenza isn’t a place where they can have fun,but there's also a place where modern music is performed,so they can have a good time there,too. I invite young people and everyone to come to Vicenza to get to know it. They should visit it in order to know,see,and touch it and its beauty.
