【題目】根據(jù)短文內(nèi)容,從短文后的選項中選出能填入空白處的最佳選項。選項中有兩項為多余選項。
After Steve Jobs died, his friend Larry Ellison said something like this,"There will never be another Steve Jobs". Larry wrote this list of Steve's life lessons to remind us all.
Love what you do.
Surely Steve became a billionaire when he brought Apple back. Apple was his calling— even after he got fired from the company. We all have bad jobs at one point in our lives. But the question is: am I in the right job? Have I found the right company? Life doesn't go on forever.
Don't do it all by yourself.
Steve learned a great leader can't do it all by himself. He needs people. They must be talented. They must be given the opportunity to succeed and fail. In short, we have to learn to be a great leader if we want to see our great ideas and hard work truly have an influence on the world.
Apple is always the best at creating a new product that meets the exact needs of users. It's empathy (共鳴) that helps Apple achieve this. Whenever the user has the first touch with a new Apple product, he says "Wow, it's just what I need". Remember, you're King in the business world if you know exactly what consumers desire.
Don't mess around with your health.
That's the most important lesson from Steve's life. It's great to learn from him now, but the fact is that he should still be here if he had treated his cancer properly. Instead, Steve chose a naturopathic (自然療法) solution that wasn't effective. When he finally decided to take his doctor's original advice, it was too late.
A. Be the best in your field.
B. They must be inspired.
C. Get on our right path now.
D. Take your health seriously.
E. Put yourself in the other person's shoes.
F. Will this lead to a successful career?
G. What are the key things that we can learn from him?

【題目】A new set of brain images shows why : Reading the Roman alphabets and Chinese characters uses different parts of the brain.
The results also suggest that Chinese schoolchildren have reading problems in a different part of the brain used in reading alphabet-based languages. This shows that the learning disorder dyslexia ( inability to read properly) is not the same in very culture and does not have a universal biological cause.
Scientists described the results as “ very important and revolutionary”. While dyslexia has certain common roots, they said, they now have some proof that this kind of functional problem works differently according to the different demands that Western and Eastern languages place on the brain.
Dyslexia is a common developmental disorder in which people of normal intelligence have difficulty learning to read, spell and master other language skills.
The results suggest that treating dyslexia around the world probably will require different treatments.
“Reading is complex,” said Guinevere Eden, Georgetown University professor. “ This shows we need to be more open-minded about diverse treatment approaches.”
Its origins are complex. There appears to be a genetic aspect to the illness. It also may result from brain injury before birth that changes visual and hearing pathways in the brain.
Earlier brain scans show that English-reading dyslexics don’t function properly in a left part of the brain associated with the awareness of 44 sounds from the English alphabet. However, according to the new study, reading Chinese uses some different parts of the brain located in the left-front of the brain. It is associated with symbol interpretation. Unlike alphabet letters, Chinese characters represent entire thoughts and physical objects.

【題目】根據(jù)短文理解,選擇正確答案。
Europe is now the biggest market for organic food in the world, having grown by 25 percent a year over the past 10 years. Denmark's agriculture minister is herself an organic farmer. The UK market for organic food grew by 55 percent in 2000, while the food market as a whole grew by only one percent. Yet only seven percent of British shoppers account for nearly 90 percent of organic sales. However popular the idea of organic farming may be, it is still an interest for only a few people.
So what makes the idea of organic farming popular? Organic farming means farming with natural materials, rather than with man-made fertilizers or pesticides. Organic farmers rely on many methods — such as crop rotation (農(nóng)作物的輪作) and the use of resistant varieties, because they are necessary for organic farmers to compensate for the shortage of man-made chemicals.
Organic farming is often supposed to be safer than traditional farming for the environment. Yet after a long research on organic farming worldwide for a number of years, science continues to be against this opinion. The House of Commons committee on agriculture publicized that, even with complete research work, it would fail to find any scientific evidence to prove “that any of claims (宣稱) made for organic farming is always true”.
However, the talk about the benefits of organic farming is going on. This is partly because many people depend on their individual farm, the soil, the weather, and so on.
(1)The first paragraph mainly tells us _____.
A.organic farming has been performed only in Europe over the past 10 years
B.governments of European countries have cared less about organic farming
C.organic farming is far from being as popular as expected
D.European countries need organic food more than the other countries in the world

A.argue for
B.care for
C.struggle for
D.pay for
(3)According to the third paragraph, _____.
A.organic farming is safer than traditional farming for the environment
B.the idea that organic farming is safer has not been proven by science
C.organic farming is accepted by the UK's House of Commons committee
D.organic farming is preferred to traditional farming
(4)Which of the following is TRUE, according to the passage?
A.The UK's agriculture minister is an organic farmer.
B.Organic farming is popular with young people.
C.Farmers make use of many different kinds of methods to improve the organic sales system.
