句中介詞of后跟名詞作介詞的賓語(yǔ),所以要填名詞,out of curiousity“處于好奇”,故填curiosity

5考查形容詞。句意:如果你能好好考慮下我,我將感激不盡。句中be動(dòng)詞后可以跟形容詞,構(gòu)成系表結(jié)構(gòu),所以要填形容詞,故填grateful。

【題目】Why Dogs Chase Their Tails

It might look like a strange activity to humans, but tail-chasing is a way for dogs to burn off some energy. In most cases, they're doing this for one of two reasons: 1.

If a dog doesn’t have anything (or anyone) to play with, it might need to entertain itself—in this case, by playing with its tail. On the other hand, the behavior could be a warning sign that your dog is becoming anxious or stressed. 'We call these displacement(替代) behaviors, similar to a human playing with their hair or tapping their foot, ' says Hartstein. '2.'

One reason tail-chasing can be a must-do for dogs is that they start playing with their tails as playful puppies learning about their bodies.3. 'The dog then learns it can get attention from its owners when it does that, ' says Hartstein.

4. But if your pet is doing it every day or it seems to become an obsession(強(qiáng)迫), you'd better watch out. A constantly bored or stressed dog might be feeling neglected. Make sure its basic needs are being met, including exercise and socialization.

5. If the tail-chasing started suddenly, your dog might be reacting to a medical issue, like cognitive disorder, or tapeworm(絳蟲(chóng)), says Hartstein. The sooner you get a medical checkup, the better. 'A lot of times, owners think, 'If I just wait, it will get better on its own, ' Hartstein says. 'But (behaviors) get more intense; they get more difficult.' With some treatment and extra training, you and your dog will both be happier.

A. They are happy and content

B. They're bored or they're stressed

C. A visit to the vet is also a good idea

D. They gradually get into the habit of chasing tails

E. Owners often laugh at the activity and talk about it

F. They seek to do things that can comfort themselves

G. It’s normal for dogs to chase their own tails every now and then

I seldom have the chance to talk native English speakers, even though I have learned English for many years. Last year my school had a cultural exchange program or there were some foreign students came to study in my school. I was lucky to become the foreign student's partner. My job was to help him solve daily problem. At first, I was such nervous that I couldn't speak very fluent when we talked in English. As we communicated more, he taught me some interested idioms, which made me to sound like a native speaker. How a valuable experience!

【題目】How to Give Directions

Whether you’re telling someone how to get your house or guiding a stranger to a local museum, you should know how to give good directions.

1. Explain the route based on where the person is coming from. Before you start giving directions, you need to ask the person where exactly they’re coming from. 1

2. Give the simplest route. While it may seem attractive to give directions to your favorite shortcut, this could wind up doing more harm than good. Instead, give the simplest directions that are least likely to confuse the person.2

3. Share the safest route. If there are several routes and some of them are especially dangerous, give the safest route. 3 Whether it’s narrow road or a high crime neighborhood, take threats to the person’s safety into consideration.

4. 4 Otherwise, you may give incorrect directions that could get the person lost. Give directions for routes that you’ve taken many times, rather than trying to describe a shortcut or another route you don’t know as well.

5. Warn the person about confusing parts of the route. If there is a confusing part of the route you’re providing, tell the person about it very carefully. 5 Some points of confusion could include roads with little notice and turns that are very slight.

A.Create a map of the route and share it.

B.Don’t suggest routes you haven’t taken.

C.Besides, tell them when to expert the confusing part.

D.As your directions will depend on which way they are headed.

E.Don’t use words, phrases or names which only the locals know.

F.This way, you’ll decrease: the chance of the person’s getting last.

G.As the person you’re advising won’t know the dangers they’ll be driving through.
