On a warm Monday, Jenny Neilson bought a sandwich and parked her car under some trees. Rolling down the windows to __41__in fresh air, she settled back to enjoy her lunch.       I was a single parent of four small children, working at a low-paid job. Evelyn Glennie was the first lady of solo percussion in Scotland. In an interview, she recalled how she became a percussion soloist (打擊樂器獨(dú)奏演員) in spite of her disability.

When I entered Berkeley, I hoped to earn a scholarship. Having been a Straight-A student, I believed I could __36__ tough subjects and really learn something. One such course was World Literature given by Professor Jayne. I was extremely interested in the ideas he 37 in class.
