A couple of years ago, I went to a lady’s house to buy some medicine. Upon entering the house, I  36  that there was a piano in the living room beside the wall.Being a piano music lover and player, I asked if the woman played. She said “Yes” and   37  that she had been taking lessons—at the age of 54!

“I have been  38  for 8 years now.” I said, after hearing her words.

“Then you must play a song for me before you leave,” she requested(請(qǐng)求).

I thought she was kidding and I  39  smiled. When I had bought the medicine, she asked me to play some music. I thought for a moment and 40   to play David Lanz’s Return to the Heart,   41  she had so much passion(熱情)for and interest in music, and it’s one of my favourite songs.

I played the song to the best of my ability(能力), putting as much emotion into it as possible. She  42  it. As I was about to step out of the door, I heard a weak voice calling, “Young man!”

I  43  , and saw an old lady taking one little step at a time with the help of another woman. “I wanted to come out to thank you for the  44  song that you played. I have been very sick, and it’s very hard for me to get out of bed, but I really wanted to thank you for the song. It made me feel good.” she said. With that, she turned around and walked slowly back to her room.

“Happy Birthday!” David awoke to the voice of his mother. “It’s time to get up and drive out to 35  grandfather’s farm.”  

“Why do we have to go there? And how long is the drive?” he asked with a sad look in his eyes.

“About two hours…and don’t worry, we’ ll bring your birthday   36  with us.” His mother walked away and left him to get ready. 

In less than an hour, David and his parents were on their way.   37  of what the colorful birthday packages had inside filled his head. David looked at the small box, thinking money or jewels might be inside…. When he opened the box, David was   43  to see only a stone. It was a very beautiful stone, but was it valuable?

Grandfather spoke more slowly than before, “David, when your grandma and I were first married, we had very little money. She wanted to give me something special for my birthday, so she found this beautiful rock and polished(打磨)it day and night   44  it shined. It was the greatest gift I ever   45  because it came from your grandma’s heart. Now, I want you to have it because it comes from my heart.” 

David held the stone in his hand and   46  the love of his grandfather. “This is a wonderful gift…thank you, Grandfather.” He knew he had received the best gift ever.

The Sea Life Centre is a Really Exciting Place

  Good morning, everyone. 36  to the new Sea Life Centre at Plymouth.

  The Sea Life Centre is a really exciting place. There are so many things to 37

here and everything is enjoyable. It costs $3.76 for adults ,  $2 for children and    38  for over sixties and school groups. It’s   39   from 9:00am to 4:30pm every day except 25^th and 26^th of December.

  Special  40  include hourly feeding times for all the different animals and fish, and shows in the sea life theatre.    41    is always there to answer questions about what you’ve seen.    42   you are in a group of six or more people, we   43    give you a special guided tour of the centre.
