Seven Chinese who were kept in Iraq(伊拉克)were freed late Monday night. A Chinese spokesman said on today.
The seven Chinese were taken by Iraq soldiers in Fallujah, west of Baghdad on Sunday after they entered Iraq through Jordan(約旦).They were all workers from Fujian Province.The chairman of China, Hu Jintao instructed the head of the Chinese Embassy(大使館)in Baghdad to do everything they could to make them free.
The Embassy then called an Iraq minister(部長(zhǎng))to make sure of the ID of the Chinese and the exact place they were kept in.At the same time some Chinese experts guessed that perhaps the Iraq soldiers had taken the Chinese by mistakes.And later they were told it was true.They did so just because they had mistaken Chinese for Japanese or South Koreans.It’s said some Japanese and South Koreans were also taken away and kept in Iraq.Japan and South Korea had sent soldiers to Iraq.Iraq warned that it would kill the three Japanese unless Japan called back its soldiers.China has warned its people not to go to Iraq and those who were already there to be more careful.
