8.假如你是李華,你校外籍教師Mr.Smith聽說你們最近創(chuàng)辦了一份英語報紙,向你詢問相關事宜.請你根據以下要點給他回復電子郵件.
1.對創(chuàng)辦英語報紙的觀點;
2.介紹你喜歡的欄目,并簡要說明理由.
注意:1.詞數:120-150,開頭結尾已給出,不計入總詞數;
2.參考詞匯:欄目column.
Dear Mr.Smith,
    Best wishes!
Yours,
Li Hua.

分析 亮點句型一:Besides, there is a column called Grammar Focus.有一個被叫做語法焦點的欄目.本句中用過去分詞在句中作定語修飾column,因為call與column之間是被動關系,所以用過去分詞做定語相當于which is called Grammar Foocus這樣一個定語從句.
亮點句型二:We receive letters from our readers, which  are about their happiness, trouble and so on.我們從讀者那里收到信,那些信設計到他們的幸福,麻煩等等.本句是一個非限制性定語從句,先行詞為letters,在從句中做主語.

解答 Dear Mr.Smith,
I've just received your letter,In your letter, you asked something about our school English newspaper. Now I'm very glad to introduce it to you.
We started the English newspaper two months ago.it aims at improving the English level of us.Good articles and jokes are published in every journal of it.They are useful for students to improve their reading ability.Besides, there is a column called Grammar Focus(亮點句型一).Many key grammar are points explained in detail here.Through reading this part, students can get high marks in English,And my favorite column is Letters from readers. We receive letters from our readers, which  are about their happiness, trouble and so on(亮點句型二).And we write to them.,and these letters are put on the newspaper. In this way,the problems of the students are solved,at the same time, their writing skill is promoted.
If you have time, you can read our newspaper and I'm sure you will like it.
Yours,
Li Hua

19.Teachers and parents usually call attention to the pictures when they read storybooks to pre-school children.But a new study suggests that calling attention to the words and letters on the page may lead to better readers.
The two-year study compared children who were read in this way in class with children who were not.Those whose teachers most often discussed the print showed clearly higher skills in reading,spelling and understanding.These results were found one year and even two years later.
Shayne Piasta,an assistant professor of teaching and learning at Ohio State University,was an author of the study.She says most pre-school teachers would find this method manageable and would need only a small change in the way they teach.They already read story-books in class.The only difference would be increased attention to the printed text."If you get children to pay attention to letters and words,it makes sense that they will do better at word recognition and spelling."But she says research suggests that very few parents and teachers do this in a systematic way.
More than 300children aged four and five were observed in classrooms.They came from poor families and were below average in their language skills.For thirty weeks,the children took part in a program called Project STAR---Sit Together and Read.The project is based at Ohio State.It tests the short-term and long-term results of reading regularly to pre-school children in their classrooms.
There are different ways that adults can talk to children about print.They can point to a letter and discuss it,and even trace the shape with a finger.They can point out a word and discuss the meaning of the print or how the words tell the story.And they can talk about the organization of the print---for instance,showing how words are written left to right in English.

44.What do we know about the ways pre-school children are usually taught?A
A.More attention is paid to the pictures,with words and letters being ignored.
B.Preference is given to the shape of letters and the organization of the print.
C.The focus of the teaching is on bringing them up to be good readers.
D.Equal attention is paid to the texts and the pictures.
45.What does Shayne Piasta suggest pre-school teachers should do in class?B
A.Teach children how to draw pictures to get an idea of what they mean.
B.Change the way they teach and pay more attention to words and letters.
C.Adopt different methods according to the students'difference in reading skills.
D.Read storybooks to children rather than explain the meaning of the pictures.
46.Which of the following is TRUE about the study on language skills of pre-school children?C
A.Many teachers want to change their way of teaching pre-school children.
B.Attention on the pictures has made the children uninterested in reading.
C.Project STAR aims to research into the results of reading books to pre-school children in the classroom.
D.Teachers are often prevented from taking different approaches to language teaching.
47.Which section of a magazine does the passage probably come from?D
A.Fashion.B.Economy.C.Entertainment.D.Education.

17.Businesses are witnessing a difficult time,which has in turn produced influence on consumers'desire to go green.However,shoppers are still laying stress on environmental concerns.
Two thirds of customers say that environmental considerations inform their purchases to the same degree as they did a year ago, while more than a quarter say that they are now even better aware of the environmental effect on what they buy.
This may help to influence how shops store goods on their shelves.And the companies should still make efforts to become more environmentally friendly.Two out of three people think it is important to buy from environmentally responsible companies,with about one in seven saying that they had even decided to take their custom elsewhere if they felt a company's environmental reputation was not good enough.
Harry Morrison,chief executive of the Carbon Trust,sympathizes:"I understand this situation where survival is very important now.But from environmental considerations,the clock is ticking-we don't have much time.In addition,cutting carbon has an immediate effect as costs drop and a medium-term benefit for the brand."
Larger companies have an extra motivation to look at reducing their carbon footprint,as new rules next year will require businesses to buy carbon allowances to make up for their emissions (排放).Those that have taken early action will have a head start.More than two thirds of consumers are not clear about which companies are environmentally responsible.This suggests that firms that are able to relay clearly their message to the public will be in a pole position to attract shoppers.
The Carbon Trust believes that it can help by informing customers about the good work companies are doing."When companies are granted the standard,they can use a logo (標識) in all their marketing which makes it clear that they are working towards cutting emissions,"Mr.Morrison said.

49.What's the main idea of the passage?B
A.Businesses are finding ways to send their message to the shoppers.
B.Firms are urged to cut carbon emissions by shoppers'environmental awareness.
C.Firms are making efforts to encourage customers to keep goods at home.
D.Companies will soon get information about cutting carbon emissions.
50.The underlined word"inform"in Paragra ph 2probably means"D".
A.reject      B.change    C.disturb   D.affect
51.According to Harry Morrison,businessesC.
A.are required to make up for their carbon emissions
B.should buy carbon allowances for shoppers
C.will benefit from cutting carbon emissions
D.have encouraged shoppers to take their custom elsewhere
52.We can learn from the passage that businesses willA.
A.gain advantages by taking early action
B.use the same logo in their marketing
C.have a strong desire to reduce costs
D.attract more shoppers by storing goods.
