Want a glance of the future of health care? Take a look at the way the various networks of people about patient care are being connected to one another, and how this new connectivity is being exploited to deliver medicine to the patient —no matter where he or she may be.
Online doctors offering advice based on normal symptoms(癥狀) are the most obvious example. Increasingly, however, remote diagnosis(遠程診斷) will be based on real physiological data(生理數(shù)據(jù)) from the actual patient. A group from the University of Kentucky has shown that by using personal data assistance plus a mobile phone, it is perfectly practical to send a patient’s important signs over the telephone. With this kind of equipment, the cry asking whether there was a doctor in the house could well be a thing of the past.
Other medical technology groups are working on applying telemedicine to rural(countryside) care. And at least one team wants to use telemedicine as a tool for disaster need—especially after earthquakes. On the whole, the trend is towards providing global access to medical data and experts’ opinions.
But there is one problem. Bandwidth(寬帶) is the limiting factor for sending complex(復雜的) medical pictures around the world — CT photos being one of the biggest bandwidth users. Communication satellites may be able to deal with the short-term needs during disasters such as earthquakes or wars. But medicine is looking towards both the second-generation Internet and third-generation mobile phones for the future of remote medical service.
Doctors have met to discuss computer-based tools for medical diagnosis, training and telemedicine. With the falling price of broadband communications, the new technologies should start a new time when telemedicine and the sharing of medical information, experts’ opinions and diagnosis are common.
The writer chiefly talks about _______.
A. the use of telemedicine B. the on-lined doctors
C. medical care and treatment D. communication improvement
The basis of remote diagnosis will be _______.
A. personal data assistance
B. some words of a patient
C. real physiological information
D. medical pictures from the Internet
Which of the following statements is true according to the text?
A. Patients don’t need doctors in hospitals any more.
B. It is impossible to send a patient’s signs over the telephone.
C. Many teams use telemedicine dealing with disasters now.
D. Broadband communications will become cheaper in the future.
The “problem” in the fourth paragraph refers to the fact that _______.
A. bandwidth isn’t big enough to send complex medical pictures
B. the second-generation of Internet has not become popular yet
C. communication satellites can only deal with short-term needs
D. there is not enough equipment for spreading the medical care

從第2段第2句話中的…remote diagnosis(遠程診斷) will be based on real physiological data(生理數(shù)據(jù)) from the actual patient 可以做出正確判斷。
With the falling price of broadband communications, the new technologies should start a new time when telemedicine and the sharing of medical information, experts’ opinions and diagnosis are common 可以肯定答案是D。
【小題4】推斷題。根據(jù)第4段第2句話 Bandwidth(寬帶) is the limiting factor for sending complex(復雜) medical pictures around the world — CT photos being one of the biggest bandwidth users可知答案為A。

Less educated and less poised(沉著的)than his brother William, Britain’s Prince Harry has occasionally found himself on the front pages of some tabloid (小報) for the wrong reason. Harry has admitted drinking underage and smoking marijuana(大麻)in the past. In January 2006, he apologized after being pictured at a costume party dressed as a Nazi. But one thing he has been serious about is going to Iraq to fight with his fellow soldiers. After completing training last year, he demanded a chance to serve.
As a child he collected military toys and his bedroom walls were covered with posters of helicopters and tanks. Despite his youth, the army has always held a special place in his heart.
“There’s no way I am going to sit back home while my boys are out fighting for their country,” he said in an interview to mark his 21st birthday. “That may sound patriotic(愛國的), but it’s true.” Perhaps this shows new strength in him.
Britain’s Defense Ministry announced last week that the 22-year-old Harry would serve a six-month tour of duty in southern Iraq.
Harry said he was “over the moon” and has insisted he wants to be treated the same as any ordinary soldiers.
In Britain, British Prime Minister Tony Blair described Harry’s decision as in keeping with his character. But in Baghdad, Iraqis described it as a public relations move.
Harry has been the focus of attention in the past few years probably because of________.
A. the identity as a prince of the UK
B. his bad habits and wrong behavior
C. his devotion to his country
D. his preference to the army
By saying “Perhaps this shows new strength in him.”, the author means that Prince Harry changed his image by_______.

The underlined word “over the moon” in the Paragraph 5 means_____.
A. very pleased B. very sad C. very frightened D. very calm

A. He was more or less affected by his childhood’s interest
B. He has grown up and felt a sense of duty to his country
C. His strong character contributes to his decision
D. He wants to make up for his wrong actions
In Iraqis’ eyes, Harry’s decision to serve in Iraq is_______.
A. patriotic B. political C. friendly D. personal

Most people want to know how things are made. They honestly admit, however, that they hard??ly know a thing when it comes to understanding how a piece of music is made. Where a composer (作曲家) begins, how he manages to keep going - in fact, how and where he leams his trade -all are covered in complete darkness. The composer, in short, is a man of mystery. (神秘).
One of the first things the common man wants to know about is the part inspiration (靈感) plays in a composer' s work. He finds it difficult to believe that composers are not much interested in that question. Writing music is as natural for the composer as eating or sleeping for all. Music is something that the composer happens to have been born for.
The composer, therefore, does not say to himself: "Do I feel inspired?" He says to himself:
"Do I feel like working today?" And if he feels like working, he does. It is more or less like saying to himself: "Do I feel sleepy?" If you feel sleepy, you go to sleep. If you don't feel sleepy, you stay up. If the composer doesn' t feel like working, he doesn' t work. It' s as simple as that.
What would be the best title for the text?
A. Composer: a man of mystery
B. Practice makes good music
C. Relation between sleeping and music
D. Music: product of nature
